the actual value of fb ads is horrible and low converting. IG has better ad conversion by miles, and that's why FB HAD to buy them out. Zuck pressured Kevin Systrom into a hostile takeover. Fuck THAT.
No ads necessary, buy directly from the feed with 1 click. get a higher conversion rate on sales because instead of posting an instagram ad and then hoping your followers that saw it click on it and then go to your store and then click on the add to cart and fill out all their info and then click checkout is a lot more clicks than one would have when they see a product post in their feed, from someone they already know, and click the buy now/shut up and take my money button.
1 click vs 3 to 4 clicks plus a lot of typing....
as a socioeconomic platform, social commerce is here and it's not going anywhere.
I have a bunch of new features like trust and reputation which are based on posting trusted or secure content even though it may have scripts, so that people don't have to click allow on your posts if they trust you, and reputation so people know if you do good business or not. perhaps i might roll those 2 into 1 score so if you do bad business or post content specifically to hack people people will know that your profile is not to be trusted or do business with. At the same time I have to add DCMA takedown and GDPR data export because even though we don't technically store media on our servers people could steal your poetry or writing or memes etc and try to claim your vibe, soul, essence, etc, and that's not cool, at all.
