How CNN, ADL & Others Amplified Smear Against Rep. Rashida Tlaib for Criticizing Campus Prosecutions

We look at the smear campaign faced by the only Palestinian American in Congress and a vocal critic of Israel, Democratic Congressmember Rashida Tlaib, after she defended the rights of student protesters. Tlaib recently criticized Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel over charges Nessel filed against 11 mostly students and alumni who were involved in a pro-Palestine encampment at the University of Michigan. Nessel then accused Tlaib of antisemitism despite the congressmember never mentioning Nessel’s religion. Key media figures like CNN’s Jake Tapper have parroted the claim that Tlaib said Nessel is biased because she is Jewish, despite the original article’s author fact-checking the narrative. “This is not at all what happened. She’s talking about an anti-Palestinian bias,” says Steve Neavling, an investigative reporter who first published Tlaib’s comments in the Detroit Metro Times. “It was a very unusual, surreal experience for me as a journalist to see so many lies being peddled about an interview that I witnessed.” We also speak with Prem Thakker, a political correspondent for Zeteo News who has documented the smear campaign, about his efforts to get an update on the U.S. investigation into the killing of 6-year-old Hind Rajab in Gaza. “I have not gotten an answer. It’s been over 240 days.”

Report from Beirut: Israel Is “Targeting Everyone” in Bombing Campaign, Killing 700+ in Just Days

We get an update from Lebanon, where the death toll from Israeli airstrikes has risen to over 700 since Monday, following a series of explosions involving pagers and walkie-talkies in Beirut and southern Lebanon last week. The Israeli military reiterated its troops were preparing for a ground invasion of Lebanon if tensions continue to escalate. Multiple Israeli tanks and armored vehicles have appeared across Israel’s northern border with Lebanon. As the Biden administration claims it’s working toward a ceasefire in Lebanon, Israel is set to receive a new military aid package from the United States totaling some $8.7 billion. “People are really scared,” says Mona Fawaz, professor of urban planning at the American University of Beirut. “Israel does these so-called targeted assassinations, which, sadly, much of the Western press has been celebrating, and they talk about Israelis’ ingenuity. In fact, it’s targeting everyone.” Fawaz discusses the context for Lebanon’s crisis, organizing to shelter and survive the bombing, and the Israeli messaging about evacuation orders and Hezbollah.

Join the wall of shame.

Capitalism cant solve the climate crisis (aleady explained by TIME magazine) and neither will it ever give you a good life. Capitalism has objectively lowered our working standard of living to worse than peasants, and cannot take credit for inventions or engineering advances. In fact, capitalism is why slaves had their inventions and the fruit of their labor stolen from them.

A meme for business owners and fellow entrepreneurs:

Democracy Now!

U.S. Gov’t Found Israel Was Blocking Gaza Aid. Blinken Ignored It.

We speak with Brett Murphy, the ProPublica reporter behind a blockbuster exposé that revealed the Biden administration ignored warnings from its own experts about Israel blocking humanitarian aid into Gaza in order to keep supplying the country with weapons. USAID, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the State Department’s refugees bureau both concluded earlier this year that Israeli authorities routinely impeded delivery of food and medicine into the devastated Palestinian territory, where hunger, disease and displacement have wreaked havoc on the civilian population. Although U.S. law requires the government to stop arms shipments to countries that prevent the delivery of U.S.-backed aid, Secretary of State Antony Blinken ignored the findings and told Congress Israel was not restricting humanitarian assistance — helping to keep weapons flowing to the Israeli military to continue its assault on Gaza.

The FBI itself was racist and organized against civil rights leaders like MLK Jr & Malcom X

COINTELPRO is just one of many instances that comes to mind.

They illegally and unconstitutionally surveilled Harry Belafonte and Aretha Franklin for years.

They organized mass surveillance in the post 9/11 NDAA & Patriot Act laws which are all unconstitutional..

The same forces that organized COINTELPRO are those that have later sought to maintain their hold on law enforcement, judicial appointments, etc.

It Could Be Harder to Find a Job and Get a Pay Raise if the Fed Gets Its Way

Most estimates say that unemployment will have to reach as high as 7.5% to get inflation down to the Fed’s target of 2%.

The inflation is because of greed. "greedflation" is citable and broken down by many an expert. (start here: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/greedflation-caused-more-half-last-100000899.html/)

The need for workers to regain parity with their purchasing power pre inflation needs to proceed unencumbered.

Finally landlords are bamboozling America. It should be illegal to increase rent without making material improvements to the property. Houses should depreciate like cars. How can the building and pipes you built 100 years ago increase in value while the building is not maintained and the pipes burst in the wall?

The value of the lot can't increase much anymore because the land is only zoned for so much and the people can only afford so much, if the zoning changes then the lot might be worth more, otherwise there isn't any reason to increase the value. The building on the lot is depreciating since the day it's built because it deteriorates just like any other physical matter.

Why are landlords trying to exploit housing as a profit center? Nearly half of greedflation comes from rent increase: since 2009 the avg income went up ~50% but the avg cost of housing went up ~80%. Americans lost 30% buying power on their largest bill, housing.

We need to stop corporate ownership of residentially zoned property.

Without any corporate luxury rental landlord bs, the market could correct to selling homes that people actually need. Like starter and mid size homes at affordable mortgage rates that can break the lock-in we see right now.

Reducing access to capital only makes it harder for have nots and benefits the haves.

So "cooling the labor market" by cutting access to capital was designed to benefit the haves at the expense of the have nots.

This is because the system was originally designed by slaveowners (haves) to exploit slaves (have nots) and people devalued labor as it was seen as something to take for free from a slave.

Mind you, resources are devalued in non-white countries by the european powers and companies that seek them as well, so for example, raw minerals and diamonds etc are purchased for pennies on the dollar, then sold for maximum price.

Racism was instituted and it blocked people of color from having access to markets. This creates more opportunity for exploitation by haves of the have nots.

The universe already explains how we should approach society:

Heat or warmth disperses to achieve equilibrium,

Similarly so, we should not seek to trickle down but rather disperse money to people equally.

I suggest that in an actually universal, basic income, we issue money to people instead of banks, and the money would be spent at businesses that provide basic necessities at the highest value per dollar.

In this way we achieve a higher velocity of money and the federal reserve still has monetary policy control over the number of bills in circulation.

Finally, a note on heat and perhaps another reason to share the wealth:

There is no such thing as cold -- only an absence of heat.

There is no such thing as hate -- only an absence of love.

Palestinian Healthcare Workers Chained, Starved, Sexually Abused: New Report

We speak with Human Rights Watch researcher Milena Ansari about the organization’s new report detailing the torture of Palestinian medical workers in Israeli prisons. HRW spoke with eight doctors, paramedics and nurses who were picked up in Gaza before being transferred to the notorious Sde Teiman camp and other facilities, where they say they suffered beatings, starvation, humiliation, electric shocks and other forms of abuse. The men also describe threats of sexual violence during brutal interrogations and seeing another prisoner bleeding after being gang-raped with an M16 rifle by three soldiers. The findings track with other reports from researchers and survivors, and HRW has called on the International Criminal Court to investigate Israel for its attacks on healthcare workers. “We’re really ringing the alarm about the situation inside the Israeli custody and detention facilities,” says Ansari, who says evidence is mounting of a “systematic pattern of ill-treatment and abuse.”

THE BUCK STOPS HERE Mediocrity is the result of passing the buck... Everyone in the bureaucracy says "not my job." and punts the issue. 'If just one or two folks stood up and said, “not on my watch,” the conspiracy wouldn’t work.'

from https://seths.blog/2024/09/the-conspiracy-of-mediocrity/

The conspiracy of mediocrity

Solo mediocrity is rampant, of course. We know that toasting the bread before making the sandwich makes it more delicious, but in service of convenience and speed, we skip a step.

It becomes a conspiracy when more than one of us is involved.

The freelancer who offers cheap and ordinary work finds customers who willingly engage with them.

The small company that gets worn down by the constant pressure to simply do a bit less and care a bit less, and decides to follow the mass market where it seems to want to go.

The thing about these conspiracies, though, is that many people have to go along for them to work.

In a big car company, it might take the agreement of 30 or 50 people before the new line gets to be a bit less magical. If just one or two folks stood up and said, “not on my watch,” the conspiracy wouldn’t work.

Like most conspiracies, this one isn’t a secret, nor is it well organized. It’s simply the result of short-term market pressures pushing individuals who used to care a lot to care a bit less.

One of Benjamin Franklin's most famous quotes is: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

This reflects Franklin's belief in the importance of individual rights and privacy. He understood that sacrificing personal freedoms for the sake of security would lead to a loss of both liberty and safety in the long run. Franklin's views emphasize that privacy is a fundamental aspect of freedom and that individuals must always protect their rights from being infringed upon by government or other people.

In essence, Franklin's perspective on privacy underscores the idea that it is essential for maintaining personal autonomy and a free society.

...the goal is to develop a quantum algorithm robot to solve the maze using tree diagram maze. A tree diagram maze has 2n possible paths, and the task is to find the shortest path among the paths. The quantum algorithm uses ratio-based as the approach in solving the maze. Qiskit from IBM has been used as the library where quantum algorithm is developed to solve the maze by executing the quantum circuit built from quantum gates. Two quantum algorithms have been developed and tested. The shortest path accuracy for the two quantum algorithms was averaging at 78% and 84%, respectively. Both quantum algorithms won over their corresponding classical opponents with the same approach.

No Ban on Fracking: Kamala Harris Doubles Down on Fossil Fuels

In her first major interview since replacing Joe Biden on the ballot, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris was questioned about her shifting statements on fracking, which has been linked to a surge in methane gas emissions over the past decade. Harris, who has previously made comments opposing fracking, vowed not to ban it if elected. The vice president went on to highlight the Biden-Harris administration’s environmental record, which activists have criticized for vastly expanding oil production rather than drawing down the country’s reliance on fossil fuels. “The data is telling us that what Kamala Harris said about fracking — that we can do it without dealing with reducing the supply of fossil fuels — it’s just not borne out by the numbers,” explains The Lever’s David Sirota, who adds, “Ultimately, consequences for that will be on the United States, for the entire world.”

The level of scrutiny I'm held at and the fact that my platform is much more thorough, and I'd even dare to say, more equitable and inclusive, yet she's given a free pass on genocide, the willow project, and stretching all kind of facts, while already being a VP in elected office, is insane.

Maybe I shoud've never tried politics, I'm too honest and factual, and I don't suffer fools.

I guess I don't belong...

Yet if honesty, rationality, wisdom, and factual knowledge are eschewed in leadership, what are we left with?

From Decriminalization to Border Crackdown, Harris Defends Hard-Line Shift

In her first major interview since ascending to the top of the Democratic ticket, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris was questioned by CNN’s Dana Bash about her policy positions and campaign platform. We begin with a look at Harris’s increasingly rightward stance on immigration and border policy with immigration activist Erika Andiola. This position violates both federal and international law, argues Palestinian American political analyst Yousef Munayyer, and, coupled with her campaign’s denial of a requested Palestinian American speaking spot from “uncommitted” voters at the DNC, he warns that “Harris could be worse than Biden” when it comes to U.S. support for Israel.

Taliban Approves Law in Afghanistan Requiring Women Remain Silent in Public

The Taliban government in Afghanistan is drawing renewed outrage over a new law banning women’s voices in public, forcing them to completely cover their bodies and faces out of the home, and more. This comes after the Taliban banned women from working in most fields and ended girls’ education past primary school following their takeover of the country in 2021. We speak with Sima Samar, an Afghan human rights advocate and doctor who chaired the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission from 2002 until 2019; she also briefly served as minister of women’s affairs in the interim Afghan government in 2002, after a U.S.-led coalition toppled the first Taliban government for its support of al-Qaeda. “You cannot see such a law in any other regime on this planet,” she says. “This is a crime against humanity. If one cannot replicate results why even let it past peer review? None of these papers would even be published if replication of results was required in a peer review. How can you call yourselves scientists if you don't replicate results?

Chain retraction: how to stop bad science propagating through the literature

Awareness of when a paper can’t be trusted is often too low — but adopting some easy-to-use technological solutions can help researchers, publishers and referees to clean things up.

There are no technology solutions needed.

This is NOT a technology problem. This is a QA (Quality Assurance) problem.

Scientists need to do their due diligence and fact check a paper by replicating it's results.

Otherwise you end up with things like pseudoscience and room temp superconductors that aren't really, social darwinism, and other awful ideas that can literally harm peoples' lives.

Degrees don't mean anything. The room temp superconductor paper was written by a phD.

Publications don't mean anything. Just because it's published now doesn't mean it won't be retracted several months later.

Replication of results by multiple parties is the only guarantee there might be some truth in a paper and even those can be faked or colluded, so we need impartiality at journals and in the review process to ensure no shenanigans or finagling of data occurs.

It's absolutely imperative that scientists and journals actually do the work of verification and replication of results BEFORE publication.

Defining existence and the state of being "real" are important.

I think the best question to ask to guide discussion is:

How does a complex imaginary "possibility" become a mathmatically "real" object?

Finally regardless of the wave function, the decision point is at the crux of collapse. Like I've written before: Penrose is the closest to getting it. 🙏🏽😉
